Françoise Walot

Françoise Walot is an actor, director, vocal coach and teacher. She graduated from the Conservatoire Royal de Liège (Belgium) with a Premier Prix and a Diplôme Supérieur in Art Dramatique with La Plus Grande Distinction. She is a Designated Linklater Teacher, having completed Kristin Linklater’s ‘Freeing the Natural Voice’ teacher training programme in 1993 in Massachusetts (USA).

She has taught voice at LAMDA, where she was Lead Voice Practitioner, at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and at the RCSSD; at the Conservatoire of Mons, Liège Conservatoire, the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema in Lisbon and for the Cork School of Music Drama Department. As a Senior DLT, she was one of the Lead Teachers for the Linklater Designation Programme (2022-23). She currently teaches at the British American Drama Academy (BADA, London).

She has run Natural Voice, Voice and Movement and Voice and Text workshops at the Grotowski Centre (Wroclaw-Poland) and workshops for poets with the Ledbury Poetry Festival and The Rebecca Swift Foundation (UK). She gives regular workshops in the Linklater method in London.

She recently directed Duncan MacMillan's “Toutes les Choses Géniales” (Every Brilliant Thing) for the Royal Festival de Spa in Belgium.
Françoise’s professional acting credits include many productions of Classical and New Plays in Belgium.

She wrote and performed her own work in Brussels, and ran Le Théâtre "Le Café!" a small-scale theatre devoted to feminist and political theatre.

In the US she performed with Shakespeare and Company (Lennox, MA) and the Company of Women (Linklater-Carol Gilligan).
